Be Thou My Vision

So here we are in California - jobless, homeless, and clueless. What lies in store for us next? No idea! But the words to this song have been our comfort and delight. It has become the "theme song" for this season of our lives (so maybe we should learn all the words, huh?). Will you pray for us, that the Lord will provide guidance, direction, and discernement for our next steps; that he will be our vision and our eyesight?

Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art.
Thou my best Thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;
I ever with Thee, and Thou with me, Lord;
Thou my great Father, I thy true son;
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.

Be Thou my battle-shield, sword for my fight,
Be Thou my dignity, Thou my delight.
Thou my soul's shelter, Thou my high tower.
Raise Thou me heavenward, O Power of my power.

Riches I heed not, nor man's empty praise,
Thou mine inheritance, now and always:
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
High King of heaven, my Treasure Thou art.

High King of heaven, my victory won,
May I reach heaven's joys, O bright heav'ns Son!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my vision, O ruler of all.

New York

In New York, we were able to go to the top of the Empire State Building. (The view was hindered by a little rain.)

We got to spend an afternoon in Central Park.

We didn't get to see the Statue of Liberty, but this was close enough:

And the kids practiced their street performing skills:
